Candice Northmore, from London, brings a rich and colourful background to her new spiritual boutique in downtown Stratford.
With a deep history as a self-described “theatre kid” — Stratford felt like a natural fit to open her new business. Its artistic spirit, welcoming community, and “cosy” atmosphere drew her in, along with the vibrant energy of tourist season.
Candice is a certified Celtic shaman offering energy healings, card readings, and psychic readings. She trained for two years under an experienced shaman with more than a decade of practice, developing her intuitive abilities as she went.
Over the past year, she even completed a cross-Canada psychic tour, travelling from Ontario to British Columbia and performing up to 30 readings each weekend.
Community-building is at the heart of her work. She loves Stratford’s naturally warm, supportive spirit and is committed to growing a spiritual community that feels inclusive and accessible. “My magic is not the only magic,” she says, and she plans to welcome guest readers — including tea leaf readers and other practitioners — to offer a variety of modalities.
Candice personal reading style is direct and intuitive: she “shoots from the hip,” guided by her spirit team, yet always “reads the room” to deliver messages with care. Her patrons, Athena and Ares — Greek deities of wisdom, war, strategy, and courage — inspire her to embrace her role as a Warrior Shaman. In practice, however, she channels guidance from many spiritual allies.

A distinctive feature of her shop is the collection of interactive altars designed for those who may not be able to practice at home:
Divine Goddess/God Altar: Guests may leave written wishes, which Candace burns under each full moon. Visitors are also invited to take a stone as a symbol of guidance or intention.
Ancestor Altar: Visitors can write the names of loved ones in a remembrance book. During Samhain (October 31), Candice honours them in ceremony. She is also planning many activities throughout the important month of October.

Under the umbrella of her ritual apothecary, Candice handcrafts tinctures, oils, candles, and sprays for various spiritual purposes — including protection, grief support, and self-love. Her shop also carries books, tarot decks, energy jewelry, ritual tools, crystal towers and spheres, and an impressive collection of 54 herbs. Customers can even blend their own ritual pouches using herbs such as wormwood, red clover, buckthorn, and calendula.
Before opening the shop, Candice worked in a witchcraft store, played spirited sessions of Dungeons & Dragons, and immersed herself deeply in spiritual study and practice.

Outside of her magical life, she is married to an accountant, and together they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first baby this fall!
