David Riggs has taken his passion as a music lover to new heights, opening a spectacular space to showcase a collection of sound systems that you wouldn’t even imagine could exist!
The extensive ground floor showroom on Ontario St has been divided into six dedicated listening areas, each graced by a variety of top-of-the-industry speakers, audio systems, turntables – all aesthetically innovative and pleasing to the eye… and ear! The walls too are adorned with incredible art.
Sonic excellence is what he is offering. To quote an industry journalist after visiting David’s shop, “—the sound was lush, colorful, and poured forth with the consistency and heat of fresh lava—and I mean that in the best possible way.” Honestly, it’s as if the musical artist is performing in front of you!
The ASOC Gallery (America Sound of Canada) has one of a kind offerings in Ontario, with a majority of the loudspeakers coming in from Germany. Brands include Avantgarde Acoustic, Airtight, Aurender, Esoteric, WADAX and so many more. FalkenOhr offers beautiful audio racks that can be matched to the speakers.
David has long been a lover of all genres of music. He and his wife Mary Hofstetter live upstairs and she shares that David has essentially moved his music room from their home to streetside! David for decades has worked in the aviation industry, recently as a Chief Transformation Officer for De Havilland Canada. Working mostly remotely now as a senior partner in a consulting firm that deals in nuclear power, subs and aircraft, I am sure work is very palatable with the sounds that surround him!
