Parking

How does Parking Work?

Payment is required at all meters and machines during enforcement hours in Downtown Stratford: April 1 to October 31 from Monday to Saturday 9am-8pm; November 1 to March 31 from Monday to Saturday 9am-6pm.

There is free 4-hour parking downtown on Saturdays from December 1 to April 30.

In an effort to make parking as simple and convenient as possible, the City of Stratford offers the HotSpot Parking App, available for anyone looking to access on-street metered parking or paid lot parking.

Accessible Parking – The City of Stratford has adopted an Accessible Parking Permit Policy which allows persons holding a valid accessible parking permit to park for free in municipal parking spaces.  The accessible permit must be displayed on the dash/visor of the vehicle when parking.

Please note that parking is not permitted in private lots if you are not a patron of that business.
Unless you are a patron or an employee of the shops/services belonging to private lots such as Shoppers, Downie Street strip mall, LCBO, YMCA, parking in these lots is NOT PERMITTED and you will be subject to parking fines.

Please be reminded that there is FREE parking offered at the Cooper Lot, located between the YMCA and the University of Waterloo building on St Patrick Street. [To view designated parking areas in Downtown Stratford, click here.]
