
Mom and daughter duo, Tracey Pritchard and Alex O’Shea, opened their Flour Mill Outpost in the former El Cactus space just in time for Christmas!
By now, you’ve hopefully had the chance to visit this wonderful space chock full of delicious gourmet creations! Literally an “outpost” of the “parent” business – Flour Mill in St Mary’s – the Outpost offers all the fan favourites.
These include – espresso coffees, smoothies and smoothie bowls, sandwiches, quiche, homemade baked treats, and small batch producers and growers. You can also pick up Tracey’s famous pastries from the freezer if you’re inclined to do some baking at home.
Tracey was a former Toronto caterer, food writer, restauranteur and consultant and she had spent ages looking for the perfect space to collaborate with her daughter, who had moved to Stratford from Toronto in 2014. Thanks to her son, a Toronto-based realtor, she was introduced to 6 Water St in St Mary’s – a 150 year old heritage building and former flour mill, that was actually just a short drive from the family’s former farm! The stars aligned and the collab was born.


Alex, married to Stratford Brazilian Jiu Jitsu owner, Ryan, holds a Bsc and Masters in Nutrition Communication. She has spent over two decades working with other nutrition professionals and chefs developing sustainable products. She also spent time on food TV! When arriving in Stratford for her husband to open his business, she hit the food scene here and worked at the Stratford Chefs School. To support her husband’s clients, she saw an untapped market and began her successful juicing company – The Farm Juice Co. Juggling this and two small children, she then made the leap to co-owner of Flour Mill. The Flour Mill has attracted much attention on social media and even national interest, including from Canada’s House and Home magazine and the Magnolia Network, which filmed a TV pilot called Comfort Food Kitchen featuring the duo and how they’ve turned their small-town venture into a must-visit destination!
