Welcome back, Giannakopoulos family! The beloved Pizza Bistro, formerly of Wellington St, has reopened this week on Downie St, next to the Avon Theatre.
Steve and Effie and their sons, Thomas, Chris, and his wife Maria, are excited to be back in Stratford, offering the Mediterranean cuisine that they were famous for for 10 years prior to leaving for Greece in 2021.
After four years by the seaside in Patras, Greece, tending to 4 acres of olive trees and running a Pizza Bistro in the heart of the city, the family has returned and is looking forward to offering patrons, old and new, their European-infused menu items.
In addition to mouth-watering pizza and pasta options, the bistro offers tapas – small plates – fun for sharing. You can also expect main meals of rotisserie meats – chicken, lamb or pork, as well as meats that are grilled or braised. Weekly specials will keep the menu fresh and interesting!
Tantalize your tastebuds for example with grilled calamari, shaved fennel, arugula, beets and lemon vinaigrette or perhaps crispy halloumi cheese with honey and sesame… or mixed lamb and pork meatballs served with tomato sauce and cracked peppercorn. And you’ll want to leave room for dessert! House-made ice cream will be the star of this menu, complementing a number of sweet treats.
