This week on Wednesday, October 8th the doors to the newest bar in town will open – End Times Bar and Beer Shop on York St!
Jordan Haynes, first-time business owner, has decided to create “the craft beer bar that he would want to go to” and he’s excited to share his passion for craft beer with you.
Several coolers will house cold Ontario craft beers from 20 to 25 mom and pop breweries. Almost nothing you’ll find here is available at the LCBO!
Breweries include (but not limited to) Bellwoods (Toronto), Meuse (Scotland, ON), Third Moon (Milton), Blood Brothers (Toronto) and Good Lot (Caledon). And so many more!
You’ll also find seltzers, ciders, and wine for those who like to accompany beer lovers!
Savoury pastries will also be available if you’ve got the nibblies. Samosas, quiches, and hand pies will come from a local vendor at the Saturday market.
Jordan is a graduate of the University of Waterloo in Computer Science. After a stint at IBM in Toronto and at a software/tech company in Waterloo, Jordan tried his hand in the restaurant industry in downtown Stratford and found he loved the interaction with people. For years, Jordan has been honing his craft as a home brewer, and even earned the moniker of “beer fairy” from his colleagues for his regular samples brought into work.
Jordan has also completed his BJCP – Beer Judge Certification Program – where his skills go toward developing standards for beer, mead and cider excellence, and his knowledge toward beer judging at competitions. So you can bet Jordan is stocking the best Ontario has to offer!
A games room will be set up at the back of the bar, and Jordan is working on setting up group games that can be played between your phone and the TV behind the bar. You can drink-in every day of the week except Monday, from Noon until 2:00am. Or if you’d rather sip from your sofa, you can grab-and-go!
