If authentic Indian food is your jam, you need to dine at the new Curry Zone! Opened in July by husband and wife, Vishal and Nirali, the Curry Zone is a chic and modern dine-in, take-out restaurant on Erie St.
Working with Nirali’s brother, who owns a number of Indian restaurants in southern Ontario, the couple are set to make this one yet another five star-rated restaurant. Check out the google reviews of Kin’s Social in Kincardine, Buddha in Walkerton or Curry Corner located in Exeter! Nirali most recently ran the latter with her sister and now is excited to run her own restaurant after gaining experience.
The pull of the extended family who run successful restaurants was too much for Vishal and Nirali and so they made the move to Canada from the UK three years ago to change up their careers and spice (literally!) up their lives! Nirali’s work in accounting and Vishal’s in marketing perfectly round out Nirali’s passion and skills in the kitchen to make this pivot in their careers a “meant to be!”
Traveling regularly from the restaurant in Exeter to their home in Brampton, it was Vishal who initiated the great idea to his brother-in-law to open in the vibrant downtown of Stratford. He couldn’t believe how wonderful our city was and thought it the perfect place to resettle his family, including their young son and daughter who will begin school here in the fall.
The menu here represents all parts of India and the dishes you’ll enjoy are family recipes, taught mostly to Nirali by her mother-in-law. Did you know that in the South of India, dishes focus on coconut, in the East the focus is fish, in the West you’ll find sweet/spicy and in the North, dishes are the spiciest! It is very important to Nirali that you are able to taste each ingredient in her dishes, so spices are added in a very precise way. Those with dietary restrictions will be pleased to know that there are a number of dishes that are gluten and nut-free.
Lunch entrees are $12 for veg and rice and $14 for chicken and rice. Choose any curry you’d like!
Hours are 11am to 2pm Monday to Friday and Noon to 3pm and 4pm to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday.
