Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. We’re observing, honouring, and celebrating Earth Day 2026 by asking our downtown member businesses to participate in our Annual Clean Sweep.

What’s happening downtown:
- Ten Toe’n Shoes: Earth Week Raffle. Collect litter and log y0our activity on the app between April 18-26 and you’ll be entered to win one of three pairs of shoes! Check here for more details.
- Downtown Stratford BIA: Member Clean Sweep and dress-up – For prizes
- The Boathouse and Shane Oosterhoff: Shane and The Boathouse are bringing people together for an Avon Riverbank Cleanup; rain or shine. Lend a hand in keeping this special stretch of Stratford looking its best! Saturday, April 18th at 10:00am. Check here for more details.
- JENN & Larry’s + Sutton Group: Teaming up!! For our annual Earth Day event we want YOU to help us keep our community beautiful! The Mission: Clean up a little bit of litter around your neighborhood, a local park, or your favorite trail! The Reward: Bring your photo proof to Jenn & Larry’s and get a FREE KID SIZED ICE CREAM courtesy of The Sutton Team! HOW TO JOIN: Clean Up: Spend some time picking up litter in your area. Ways to celebrate Earth Day (Week/Month):
- Honour our pollinators by planting flowers and plants that attract bees, hummingbirds, butterflies.
- Clean up plastic downtown and throughout the city
- Swap our harmful cleaning products and household supplies
- Plant wildflowers and native plants
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Plant a tree
- Avoid using pesticides and chemicals on your lawn or in the garden
- Be conscious of the food you buy
- Conserve water
