The BIA is roughly located within the following boundaries: West where Ontario St meets Church St and East to where Ontario St meets Nile St. North at York St to South where St Patrick meets Downie St.
All businesses within the Business Improvement Area boundaries are automatically members and pay a small levy on their property taxes to support the work of the Downtown Stratford BIA.
At this time, we are not offering membership to businesses that fall outside of these boundaries. We do though offer space on a sub-committee but that the focus is still downtown.
No, BIA membership is limited to commercial property owners and tenants that pay commercial taxes.
No, we are an incorporated non-profit, Advisory Committee of Stratford City Council, with our own board of management and our own staff.

Signage By-law
The Infrastructure and Development Services department of the City of Stratford oversees the bylaw pertaining to business signs and sidewalk signs. Formal applications will need to be made to the City for the use of sidewalk signs, such as A-frame sandwich boards. The fee for a sidewalk sign is $51.00 and
$5.00 for the Indemnity Agreement. Please click here for the details of the bylaw.
